What does Overstock do?
Please see the section “What we do” for a description of our business.

What is 'closeout' merchandise?
Closeout merchandise is typically available in inconsistent quantities and prices and often is only available to consumers after it has been purchased and resold by disparate liquidation wholesalers. We utilize the Internet to create a more efficient market for liquidation merchandise. We provide consumers and businesses with quick and convenient access to high-quality, brand-name merchandise at discount prices. We believe we are unlike other online liquidators because we focus on multiple product lines, offer a single price (as opposed to an auction format), and serve both businesses and consumers.

How do I sell products on Overstock.com?
Overstock.com provides a one-stop liquidation channel for quickly selling any quantity of excess inventory directly to consumers, either anonymously or in association with a company's name brand, through Overstock's website. Click here if you have inventory to sell.

What is an OpenIPO and why did Overstock select it?
Devised by W. R. Hambrecht, the Open IPO is an innovative way to raise capital through a public auction that distributes stock to individuals and institutions efficiently and equitably. All successful bidders pay the same price per share. With this format, the public is determining the fair market value of the stock. Overstock.com choose this system because it of its impartiality and fairness, and because it allowed Overstock customers to invest in the company they support.
